Koujetsu Hanagayu [WIP]

Koujetsu sat in his room, looking over the papers his spies in Soul Society kept brining him back. He sighed and rubbed his temples, he could feel a headache coming on. That was never a good sign. Ever since he had conquered his inner hollow, he had thought it gone for good, but it appeared, that was not the case this time around.

Since that day, whenever Koujetsu had been stressed, or annoyed, a migraine would occur. It was during this time that he felt Yami's presence most, the presence of his inner hollow. Slowly however, during the time that Koujetsu kept it at bay, it had developed a new name for itself; Caranore. Koujetsu did not know what this meant, beyond the fact that he was getting stronger.

Another pang struck him in the head, and Koujetsu rubbed his temples harder, trying to will it away. It never worked before, but he kept doing it, hoping that it might actualy be a normal headache for once. Alas, it was in vain as the familiar feeling of insanity bubbled and disappeared, much like a small air vent under water would let the air escape from time to time. Koujetsu sighed and stood up, the panging in his head disorienting his sense of balance. He stumbled a step or two, and barely managed to grab his Zanpaktou, before heading out of the door and signaling for one of the carrier pigeons that the Vaizards used for intrabase communications, and sent it to find his apprentice, using a little amount of reiatsu to set its brain on the target, turning it into a basic homing projectile. Letting the bird go, Koujetsu started walking down the hallway and towards the training grounds, ignoring the throbbing in his head that occured every time he took a step.

Bracing against the wall, Koujetsu stumbled down the last step and into the sprawling training area. As he walked out of the doorway, the artifical sun that the Vaizards were using as a light source burned straight into his eyes, causing him to trip and land on his knees, his right arm covering his eyes from the blinding light. He began to crawl forwards, stopping when he felt a cool stone and removed his right arm slightly, allowing, a limited amount of shaded light to enter his field of view. Sighing in relief, Koujetsu put his back to the rock, encompassing his entire body in shade, and closed his eyes, entering his mindscape.

A chill wind shot across the field, causing Koujetsu's cloak that he wore to flutter widely. Of course, the chill did nothing to effect him, it was just a breeze. He wasnt here to speak to his Zanpaktou, and he had the feeling it knew that. Instead, his eyes peeled against the blinding glacier top, looking for the source of his headaches. A shift in the wind brought a faint roar to his ears, and Koujetsu looked upwards, noticing a pale blue against the blinding white at the top of the glacier. He growled under his breath slightly and made sure his Zanpaktou was tied to his waist tightly. Turning to the side, he pulled the hood of his cloak over his face and began the long trek to the top of the glacier.

The journey itself was not easy, as was to be expected. Yami was a bit of the pain in general, and arrogance just extruded from its pores. The test, the "Trial of the Wasteland", was not an easy one. Memories long forgotten had plagued Koujetsu on the way up, his family, his old friends, his time in Soul Society. The old emotions were unlocked, and Koujetsu found himself shivering, in agony and pain of the emotions past. Yet he continued, more determined than before. These were his memories damn it, not some play toy! This blasphemous beast inside of his had no right.

This little journey, of course, led Koujetsu to his current position, standing in front of a giant, pale blue ice dragon, icicles hanging from under its nose, giving it a beared and mustache appearance. The temperature up here was much, much colder, chilling Koujetsu's very soul. Yet he stood there, and stared at the beast, demanding without words why it was still plauging him.

Instead the beast just turned to face him, appraising him almost. Koujetsu felt violated by his stare, and was about to move when the beast spoke, effectively freezing him in place.

"Yes... Youve done nicely with yourself since that day... Very nicely. Good, good..."

And with that, the beast disappeared. Koujetsu unfroze, and twisted his head around, looking for it, when a blast of frozen air hit him directly in the chest, and flung him backwards. Off the edge of the glacier. Had he not been stunned, not been filled with the pain of merging, Koujetsu would have tried to move. As it was, he was helpless, and helplessly falling into the abyss of his mind. Only the pain remained soon, the feeling of having crushed ice forced through his veins and arteries. And then it was gone.

Koujetsu opened his eyes, still sitting in the training ground chamber, where he was before, still waiting for his apprentice to join him. He stood, THEY stood. Moving his mouth, their mouth, the being spoke.

"Now... we are one. Now it is the time for them to realize the true power that we possess."

His eyes a permanent gold due to the merging, Koujetsu turned his head to the door as it opened, the light dimmed in his eyes and the headache completely gone.

"Now.. let us show them fear.."
