Arisa Inuzuka

Even as the sunlight shown through the trees, no one had foreseen this life being taken. Even as death wrapped its cold fingers around the mother and her darling child, the woman fought to keep her beloved girl alive. She had not been openly attacked, actually the tragedy its self was completely accidental. Kagura had always been a strong woman, like her husband she had been a leaf jounin. Prosperity, balance, peace she taught that to her students. It was what she had planned on drilling through her daughters head as well. However, during her ritual morning walk she was struck by an out of control wagon. Her body, weak from harboring the child, was no match for the blow. Weak and unable to move from the spot she landed, she could only lay her hand over her stomach and curl up in the roots of the large oak tree. Her stomach was large with the growing child, she was ready to give life to her baby in a month. The only witness to the accident was her wolf Akina, who at the time was pregnant with her first litter of puppies. Just like both the ninja and her wolf’s mothers had done, they were to both give birth to a child, the human would train with her partner the offspring of her mothers animal partner.

Screaming from painful agony, Kagura gave birth to Arisa with the assistance of Akina and the woman who had been driving the wagon. As the woman's husband rushed back to the village to get help, little Arisa was wrapped in a blanket by his wife. Akina stayed close, cleaning the child off almost as if she were her own. It was the most they could do for the hurt mother.

“Kagura, your strong.” The golden brown canine spoke in her usual gruff voice. She was trying to sooth her human partner, but it was to no avail. By the time help arrive, Kagura had fained from blood loss. The birth was to much for her body, and to keep her daughter safe, she had taken as much of the blow as possible to keep her stomach from being damaged.

In the end, only Arisa survived.

By Akina’s second litter, Arisa was given one of her sons. Due to the tragedy of Kagura’s death, Akina had postponed the gift of one of her litter going to Arisa, it was to ensure the child would grow properly. Being premature, Arisa was a small girl, smaller than normal. Being a preemie was tough, and caring for her was even harder. By the age of 11 the home was reluctant to allow her to attend the academy. Kuro, her animal partner, stood a above Arisa’s hip, allowing the girl to ride his back. He was not a large wolf, not like his mother or older brother Neo, who could tower over most humans on his hind legs. Even his twin, Keeza, was growing more than little Kuro. They were fighting animals, and were built for it.

However, Kuro was the runt.

Two years, it took that long for Arisa to start learning techniques and it took that long for her to pass the academy. Her reluctance and disobedience towards her instructors stressed them, making them wonder if she was cut out for this. She skipped classes frequently to roam the forests, and spend most of her time out side away from everyone else. She was unfocused, and struggled with her jutsu, though most of that was blamed on her lack of interest in the teachers teaching. By the end of her second year she showed slight interest and decided there was no time better than the present to graduate. By age 13 she graduated along with her partner Kuro.

Now age 15, Arisa wonders when and if she will find a proper sense. Her mother died when she was born, and her father was no where around. Dead or alive, she just didn’t know. She had slight goals in mind, her main one was to seek a sense to make her strong. Her desire for power was not because she hungered for it.

“I just want to be strong enough to travel away from this village.” She had told Kuro once as they sat under the bright star light. She seemed unfocused, her eyes were clouded over as she seemed to fade away in to her own bliss. That was the only time Kuro saw her calm was at night. She loved the stars, they were the only thing that honestly kept her interest.

Her true goals are unclear, as is her honest path. Unsure of her self, Arisa makes her own path, her own life with Kuro by her side. What path she will choose at which moment, that is one she will have to decide when the chance arises. This story, this path, is where Arisa and Kuro begin their decent, their decent in to the world of shinobi.
