Hyouden Terakoishi

Land of Mirrors

Terakoishi was born in small island called The Island of Nine Mirrors, main island in Land of Mirrors covered with trees and most of the time shrouded by mist. It was a cold winter night, in fact the coldest night in last 50 years. Dark night sky was filled with dancing snowflakes. Air was filled with sounds of bells announcing that new member of ruling Hyouden family has finally arrived into this world. Temple in royal palace was filled with sounds of monks chanting, praying that spirits of winds, waters and snow would guard this newly born child.

As Terakoishi opened his eyes for the first time he saw four people. His mother, Hyouden Miyuki, also called the lady of singing halls. People were talking that she was a godess because no living women could be as pretty as she was. Long silver hair always shining as new snow, deep blue eyes. Her face was always warm and radiating calmness and wisdom. She was always dressed in white. Miyuki loved to sing. Her voice was wonderful and it was almost impossible to resist hearing her songs because these sometimes were genjutsu making people to feel happy and relaxed. She was a master of genjutsu and kenjutsu and her specialization was sound techniques. Strong willed woman she was.
Terakoishi father, Hyouden Yasushi, valiant, proud man, fearsome warrior and fair ruler. His hair was long, curly, silver colored. Only few could look straight into his eyes for they were full of will. He was master bowman, no one could compete with his aim and no one dared to.
Eldest child of Hyouden family, Hyouden Kasumi. She was 14 years older then Terakoishi and the next ruler of the country. She was called lady of winds. For most of her life she was away, studying with her teacher, traveling around the world, collecting knowledge and experience. Gentle and shy she was. When she opened her mouth everyone would go silent for her voice was even more beautiful then her mothers, though Kasumi was silent child and didn't talk much, neither did she sing. She loved to dance more then anything else.
The fourth person Terakoishi saw was his elder brother, Hyouden Tamotsu. He was 10 years old when Terakoishi came to this world. A child very gifted with Hyouden bloodline, he was training from young age and was expected to become great warrior with no equal to him. As others family members he had long silver hair and shining silver eyes. He was tall and strong child having no fear, always ready to meet new challenges.

From the moment he was born Terakoishi was surrounded by luxuries. His parents loved him very much and did their best that their son would have everything he could possibly need. Terakoishi mother spent all of her free time with him, she would take Terakoishi outside into garden and begin singing songs about past of Hyouden family, about distant lands and great heroes. Terakoishi father was very proud of his son because Terakoishi like his older brother was very talented with Hyouden bloodline. From his youngest days Terakoishi played with water droplets or snowflakes making them dance above his head.

Armed foreigners begun to appear in Land of Mirrors and ill talks spread with them. Every day more and more of them arrived and they begun seeding lies in people hearts. Many people living in islands further from main island begun believing these lies and so one by one those islands separated themselves announcing independence though the truth was that those foreigners had seized control of those islands. When those foreigners had enough islands in their control, they begun assembling army in there.

Soon it was clear that war is inevitable and Terakoishi father begun gathering his forces in order to defend remainder of his lands. Foreigners attacked unexpected and soon there was only one island left unconquered by them, the island were capital stood. Fierce battles happened there and both sides lost many good men. One of great warrior families betrayed Terakoishi father and he was killed alongside his whole army and the only place left for royalists was capital. The siege of capital lasted for months but finally after great loses it was taken. Knowing that everything is lost Terakoishi mother entrusted him to an old family friend and ordered to take Terakoishi to a safe place. Terakoishi sister, Kasumi, was away with her teacher at the beginning of attack and so she was saved, her teacher took her from land of Mirrors. But Terakoishi mother with his brother Tamotsu weren't able to escape from city in time and they were trapped in royal palace during its attack. Miyuki asked certain man that he would come and them escape but this man with his squad was caught in an ambush and arrived to late. Miyuki seeing that no help is coming stood up herself, took her swords and entered the battle for royal palace. For a moment fighting stopped for Miyuki entered battle singing and and a song which inspired fear in enemy hearts though they somehow withstood this genjutsu and again fierce fighting begun. Terakoishi mother with her best troops held corridors of royal palace for days when finally enemy fighting for every inch. Finally the men Miyuki called for arrived, they wanted to take her and her son with them and run but it was clear to Miyuki that her destiny was to die here. She sealed Tamotsu memory away and ordered the leader of the group which came to save them to train Tamotsu. Men were ordered to leave and they had no choice but to do what Miyuki said. After the men left she sacrificed herself and summoned unimaginable winds to destroy royal palace and any enemy still standing there.

Mountain temples

Terakoishi was brought to temple standing high in the mountains in the Land of Lightning, there he was left in the car of monks which had to raise. They raised him giving no privileges, Terakoishi had to work and train hard. He disliked taijutsu lessons and often tried to run away although he was always caught and punished. This running away was useful for him because in such desperate attempts to avoid his training he trained his legs a lot and became really fast runner. Despite all the hard work all the best memories of Terakoishi were here, in this temple. When Terakoishi was five years old he with his friends was taken into great forests for different training, there teacher and group of students had to spend two years learning things you can't learn in temples.

In these forests teacher would teach children the ways of nature. Children would learn how to live in harmony with nature, how to heal using means forests provided, they were taught many survival techniques. Later they begun learning about spirits living in the woods, how to calm them, how to get their favour. They made themselves musical instruments and begun playing them to communicate with others, to calm spirits or attract wild animals. Last and hardest part of whole training was the training to create inner balance. In order to do that they traveled to sacred places of the forests and meditated there for weeks.

After two years of training in forests and not seeing any signs of civilization except old abandoned temples the groups finally returned from the forests with great amount of new knowledge and experience longing for home which they thought temples hidden in the mountains were. But Terakoishi didn't have much time to rejoice. An strange man soon came to see Terakoishi. He said his name is Aldaron and he is here to take Terakoishi as his student. Terakoishi knew that this man has something to do with Terakoishi past and he agreed to travel together. Though Terakoishi left these temples with hurting heart and tears in his eyes.


For five years Aldaron and Terakoishi were wandering around the world, from town to town, from village to village helping people, investigating some matters that were unknown for Terakoishi, just training as hard as they could. They spent a lot of time in forests, old abandoned and forgotten cities, temples.

Aldaron began teaching Terakoishi the ways of shinobi. Aldaron himself had same chakra elements as Terakoishi and therefore was perfect teacher for him. Terakoishi learned a lot about chakra control and done some unimaginable chakra training in order extend his chakra reserves. Then he began training with elemental chakra control. He learned to use ninjutsu very fast although he would prefer his ability to manipulate wind and water over using techniques in skirmishes with any bandits they would encounter.
Aldaron was not a genjutsu type shinobi so Terakoishi had to develop his genjutsu techniques himself.

Aldarons training was very difficult and required for lots of physical work which Terakoishi disliked the most. Aldaron decided to tell Terakoishi about his past in order to motivate him and so he told everything he knew about events in Land of Mirrors. After hearing this story Terakoishi set a certain goal and decided to train as hard as he can. he wanted to become strong enough to be able to help everyone who would need his help.

Kirigakure

At the end of tenth year of Terakoishis life Aldaron had to return to Kirigakure for he had his duties to village. Aldaron took Terakoishi with him to Kirigakure, there he entered the shinobi academy at the age of eleven. Entering academy was useful for terakoishi because there he was able to make few new friends which would help him to develop himself and gain some confidence. Soon he grew accustomed with easy going life that he had and was happy enough. He finished academy in two months and became genin. Terakoishi now was training hard, always looking forward to new adventures. He spent lots of time in mountains or forests training or relaxing, playing his flute, meditating or just spending his time with friends. The life in Kiri was similar to life in temples and Terakoishi enjoyed every single moment. No news from Aldaron reached Terakoishi and he slowly forgot his master.

One day the "adventures" Terakoishi longed for came unexpected in form of large scale assault on Kirigakure. In that assault Terakoishi was wounded and separated from his new friends. On that day Terakoishi realized how weak he still is and promised to train harder then ever if he would be able to survive that hell in Kirigakure. The village was destroyed and survivors were ordered to run away. That was the third time Terakoishi had to leave his home and friends hastily and travel away.

Kumogakure

Terakoishi decided to travel to Kumogakure and try his luck there. He once spent his time in Land of Lightning so he decided that this is the best place to start looking for new home. The first person Terakoishi met in Kumogakure was Raikage himself though Terakoishi didn't knew that. Few days later Terakoishi was accepted as Kumogakure genin. There he spent his days happily but training harder then ever.
