Inoto Tokeiyame's weapons Empty Inoto Tokeiyame's weapons

Name of Weapon or Item: Ame no Murakumo no Touken (Swords of the Gathering Clouds of Heaven)

Location: Upper arms (each side), left hip, and lower back (facing right, although this varies on occasion).

Description: A set of 4 kodachi. They grant the user access to various lightning based kenjutsu techniques and are incredibly dangerous weapons. One ability they possess, is to extend the range of kenjutsu based attacks through channeling chakra into them. The blades react, creating a lightning like extension from the weapon in the form of a blade up to the length of a nodachi (at higher levels). Given the nature of lightning, this doesn't last for very long. The blade also possesses the ability to absorb Raiton attacks, converting the energy back into chakra and fueling the fighter for longer periods of time. The final abilities of these weapons is that they are a summoning contract for the dragon Seiryu (S) and a ritual for creating a storm (see jutsu later on).

Owner: Inoto

Rank: C-S

History: The story around the blades varies based on the location. Some say they were the personal weapons of the mythical Seiryu. Others say the weapons were used in a battle against Seiryu. Both are wrong. The Ame no Murakumo no Touken was the original 'Kusangi'. A long time ago, according to the myth, a swordsmith sought the approval of the dragon Seiryu, who was the guardian of their lands. The swordsmith went every day for a year to merely observe Seiryu. For that year, neither of them said anything to each other.

One day, the swordsmith asked the dragon, "Why do you cry?" The dragon was taken aback by the question, confused by the swordsmith's observation. He had never said anything to him.

The dragon answered, "I do not cry."

The swordsmith then pointed out the rain and the thunderstorms, asking then, why he created those. Seiryu explained he forged the lightning as a work of art, much like the swordsmith created his swords. The swordsmith then asked the dragon, "I would like nothing more than to forge a masterwork that is as beautiful as your storms, but I do not understand how."

It is said Seiryu then explained to him how to do this, the nature of storms, and granted him the power needed for his wish. However, in return, Seiryu took away the man's ability to speak and write, as to not spread the secret of this forging. It is also said that Seiryu himself helped the man forge the blades with the power of his lightning.

Once the word was completed, the man presented the 4 swords to the dragon. Seiryu asked the man why he had created four swords. The man simply replied, Seiryu granting him the ability to speak one last time, "It is the nature of lightning."

Pleased with the answer, Seiryu had the blades retrieved by the monks from the village, the man dying immediately after he answered the dragon. He had been granted his wish and would be immortalized in his work.

However, after the masterwork was completed, another masterwork was made in imitation of the Ame no Murakumo no Touken, it was then named the Kusangi. Enraged by this, Seiryu called down a storm to destroy the Kusangi, but he could not find the blade as it hid in the grass. This further angered the dragon, so to destroy the Kusangi, he imbued much of his power into Ame no Murakumo no Touken in a hopes that they would one day meet and his weapon would rein supreme.

The blades were in the Tokeiyame family, who were predominantly monks, for generations (they have never left the possession of a Tokeiyame since their creation). During the Sanction of Pacifism, they were to be destroyed. However, Inoto took the blades from the shrine when he defected from the Tokeiyame.

Appearance: The blades are clearly a masterwork. The sheathes of each of the kodachi are a brilliant white with silver embellishments forged over the simple wood to look like lightning striking across them. The kodachi themselves have a light blue-grey metal tsuka, which matches the tsuba. A coil of cloth is around the tsuka, which is a silvery storm grey. The weapon's actual blades though seem to shift slightly in the light. They are naturally grey, but have a small blue tint to them and the color seems to vary slightly, making it appear like storm clouds.
