Yamabushi Clan
Name: Yamabushi/Tengu
Founder: Unknown
Location: Iwagakure
History: Tengu "heavenly dogs" are a class of supernatural creatures found in the Kurama Mountains. They are sometimes worshipped as Shinto kami (revered spirits or gods). Tengu are associated with the ascetic practice known as Shugendō, and they are usually depicted in the distinctive garb of its followers, the Yamabushi. Yamabushi "One who lies/hides in the mountains" are mountain ascetic hermits with a long tradition as mighty warriors endowed with supernatural powers. They follow the Shugendō doctrine and form loose confederations, and associations with certain temples, and also participated in battles and skirmishes alongside the Uchiha on occasion.
Those who came to the worship of the Tengu became known as Yamabushi. This is how Nii became known to the Tengu because his father was a high beliver and offered his first born son as proof for their loyalty. As time went by, the clan began to wither away. All that was left of this mighty clan was the young Nii and his father. After his fathers death, Nii became the sole survivor of his fallen clan.
Special Info: The Tengu appear in a large number of shapes, but it usually falls somewhere between a large, monstrous bird or a "Holy" anthropomorphized being, often with a red face with a unusually large or long nose. Early depictions of tengu show them as kite-like beings who can take a human-like form, often retaining avian wings, head or beak.
Like the other types of warrior monks, Tengu were skilled in the use of a wide variety of weaponry. It should not be surprising to find references to them fighting with bow and arrow, or with sword and dagger.
In addition to their spiritual or mystical abilities, Tengu are often attributed with being skilled practitioners of ninjutsu, the art of the ninja.
Clan Kekkei Genkai/bloodline:
With every Tengu comes a different ability. Some master in the arts of shapeshifting or spiritual enlightenment. After having Jirōbō sealed inside of him, Nii gained the ability to convert his Katon and Doton element into a mixture that resembles Magma. This chakra affinity allows him to summon from the ground molten earth and control over the substances movements. This deadly fusion of Fire then Earth can create a landscape of ash and fire. Although the Yonbi was known to have this same ability, there powers were greatly different. While the Yonbi can be compared to a S-Rank, Nii's Magma usage can be leveled at a B-Rank.
Nii also gained a plethora of inhuman powers. He has enhanced strength, stamina, and durability. He also has the ability to detach Jirōbō's soul from his body, granting him super speed, by means of his soul moving to a different place and Nii's body following it. This acts to give him speed in short bursts, and allows him to go anywhere Jirōbō can get to, regardless of whether his body (under normal conditions) could or not. He can also use his soul for extrasensory purposes (when a shinobi trie's to sneak up on Nii, Jirōbō will turn his soul to look at them without ever turning Nii's body). While using this ability, Jirōbō's soul will give off a red chakra. This led to Nii's nickname "Red Flash of The West" (If you ever seen the chronicles of Riddick then know that Lord Marshal's unique ability is a perfect example of this.)
