Personality: Katsumi has always been deathly silent due to her being mute and unable to speak. However, her personality comes out whenever you happen to hear her speak through your mind. She usually expresses herself through various body movements besides using words, her face and eyes being the main source of personality and speech.
She is a rather calm person and is known for her leadership. She is very loyal to her friends, mostly Kenji, and has a sense of her own justice. She'll protect whoever she sees fit and although she never typically wants to destroy a soul she isn't afraid to do it. She was never truly one to give in and if forced to do so she will seek revenge depending on the situation. She is rather merciful although if someone does something she doesn't like, that can easily go away and she'll deal punishment as she sees fit.
--------
Although a lot of her hasn't changed over time, as she grew older she began more and more of a leader. She shows signs of chivalry; her honor, sense of pride, and justice are rather high. She was always known to lead her teammates in the genin team and because of that they won. When she reached chunin she led her own class, each student was challenged and passed high. As chunin she became leader of her entire clan and took care of them, bringing peace to them all. Now as Jounin her leaderships skills and communication have advanced even more. She is still rather silent and her stealth has grown tremendously, her ability allowing her to track people down as well. She has a big personality, one of complexity and yet simplicity. Kenji may very well be the only person to ever know how she ticks, and thus the proof of her strong devotion and loyalty.

History: [Will eventually be re-written]
Before the birth of Katsumi; her parents met in the streets of Sunagakure by merely bumping into each other and creating a strange relationship from there. They married and it wasn't long before Katsumi herself was born into the Ryota clan. However, when she was born Katsumi was the first in her clan to never cry or make a sound. At the time it wasn't seen as a problem due to her being so young. During the time of her birth, the clan and it's member were separated. The leader's name was Norio and his younger brother, Tamotsu, decided he wanted to be leader and took half the clan members with him. Katsumi and her parents stuck with Norio although many times her mother's parents always tried to pull her mother and Katsumi to the opposite side. However, her mother's loyalty to her father was stronger and so her mother stayed.
As Katsumi grew, she was just like any other child except Katsumi never spoke. Her parents learned the fact she was mute, the first in her clan. Thus, not only did Katsumi learn what every child was taught but also how to talk through sign language. Katsumi was always one to learn through visual aid, making sign language much easier to learn.
Through the academy years, Katsumi was normally the kid who always got picked on and was found many times silently crying in a bathroom stall with food sometimes in her hair from other children. However, Katsumi never told the teachers for she already had communication problems due to them having a hard time understanding what she was saying. A special sign language jonin was soon brought in and would follow Katsumi to classes, making the other students back off. Yet, when the teacher wasn't around, they would continue to pick at her, throwing food on her, and even began hitting her. One day as they had taken it to far and Katsumi had had enough. They had beaten her to the ground and even ripped her shirt off, laughing at her and acting like animals. Katsumi didn't stand for this and she had cried her last time as she stood and attacked with a simple dust jutsu, blinding them. Seeing them weak, she began to throw her own punches and it wasn't long till she had beaten them to the ground; standing above them with a cold hard stare on her face as they whimpered. She showed mercy that day as she walked away.
Her parents later heard of what had occurred but once Katsumi's story was heard and the bruises were finally revealed, all believed Katsumi and began punishing the bullies with more school work and the embarrassment of being beaten up by Katsumi. In the academy itself, Katsumi was relatively smart and could easily perform the basic jutsu, earning her a good reputation and soon many friends. Majority used her to their gain and after a while, Katsumi shut them out and made them fend for themselves while she helped her true friends. This was where he loyalty grew for she soon became the strongest out of her friends; defending them from harms way and even taking out any bullies that tried to cause anyone trouble.
Katsumi graduated the academy and soon became genin, awaiting to be put into a team and meet her jonin sensei or whomever her teacher may be. Not to long after, both of her parents soon got into a fight due to the clan separation. It wasn't long till they got a divorce and Katsumi's mom took her and moved to Konoha, her mother's old home before she married Katsumi's father. To this day Katsumi lives in Konoha, wondering when she'll ever return to Suna and meet her family and friends again.
------
[In a hurry so I am going to just sum everything up]
Upon being placed into a genin team with Konoha and Metsubou, their leader Ryu; they traveled far and wide. The first went to Suna where their guide, Kaji Kanto, gave her the ability known as seishin. This allowed her to finally speak, just instead of suing her mouth she used her thoughts, something that benefited them later. She set the silly sign language aside and worked with everyone through her thoughts. It wasn't long till something occurred and the Kazekage tried taking them in for being with Kaji. They escaped elsewhere and Kaji took out the Kazekage, gaining power over the Sand village. Later, giving it to a man named Battei.
Soon, the team made way to Kusa where Katsumi and Konoha joined the Kanto Group, a group led by Kaji Kanto. Things were going well again but soon their leader took them away and they attacked the leader of the uprising group called the Neo-Akatsuki. Being sent away before they were killed, they met up with their new teammate (due to Metsubou never showing up) Kenji Akira. Upon seeing Kenji, Katsumi thought of him as cocky and thought he needed a sense of leadership. She also took an obvious liking to him and was quick to put him in his place, her establishing leadership over her two teammates. Kenji listened more and despite his knowing, Katsumi kept an eye on him much like she had with Konoha, a sign of her protection over those she cared for.
After meeting in Kiri, the three of them were taken by Kaji and were given new abilities as they requested. Konoha became a vampire, Katsumi gained wings from genes of a man known as Genesis in the past, and Kenji gained a new kekegenkai. The three were left and soon their leader took them to Konoha where Katsumi still dealt with the pain as her wings were growing in. During the stay at Kusa, Katsumi and Kenji had also grown close as Konoha was a continuation of their bond. When the Raikage began to cause chaos for all the villages, they escaping to Suna. Katsumi, Kenji, and a missing-nin by the name of Yuumai and his summoning, all went to her clan household. It was here her clan became more well known and she was able to speak to her father for the first time in years. Konoha quickly met up with them and they all began to plan their next actions before soon meeting up with their new clan leader, Zutto. At Konoha, a man had attacked and killed their leader, leaving them devastated by not only their village being destroyed but by losing their leader. Despite him being leader though, they still mostly listened to Katsumi.
Leaving Suna and heading to Kusa again, they hid from the chaos of the world. This pushed Katsumi to the desire to become even more powerful and despite them wanting to train, they continued to run into numerous factors that stopped them. Katsumi met the former Kazekage who was defeated, a later alley who aided them. At this point Katsumi cried for a way out from it all and Kenji answered, taking her elsewhere from the group. It was then Katsumi lost her virginity, something she questioned about being a good decision the next day. She began to grow a small fear of Kenji getting in the way of her goals of obtaining clan leader and restoring balance in her clan, but Kenji benefited her more then anything. He had brought her a sense of peace and someone else to rely on, something she had always hoped for. But due to her past, she always secretly questioned him, although she still had her trust for him.
Soon they all returned to Konoha, a wasteland filled with those who weren't lucky enough to escape the cold grip of death. This included majority of her past friends and even her own mother, something that brought chaos to her spirit despite Kenji being there. Soon enough, it got worse as someone attacked and tried taking away her peace; an Uchiha by the name of Izual. Lucky enough to save Kenji, the other people in the group (Yoshimaru, the former Kazekage, etc) helped fend him off until soon a giant mass of energy rose from nearby. It came out of nowhere and threatened the life of the world, however the genin happened to escape and others fought off the powerful force.
Escaping to a far away island, Katsumi couldn't help but feel worthless and sorrow more then ever. She stayed close to Kenji and although she continued to lead the team, when they left her she fought with her own chaos. Kenji happened to cheer her up some once more and soon Katsumi's father arrived and called off sending people to Konoha. It was then her father learned of Kenji; her father approving of him. Upon her father leaving and Kenji elsewhere in the village, Katsumi finally had a breakdown; releasing what she had stored up the entire time. As Kenji came back, she had her head in her hands and was curled up in a shaking ball, actually crying. This left a wound, feeling shame for such weakness and making her toughen up more.
Ever since, they returned to Konoha and began to aid in rebuilding the once great village. Katsumi played a good part in this, commanding a good amount of survivors and leading them so that things ran smoothly. Meanwhile, the bond between her and Kenji strengthened. Due to doing so well with the village and going on various missions to help gain money for the village, she was promoted to chunin. Her work didn't stop there; she continued performing missions, leading more people in the village, and soon led an academy class. Although she was rather busy, she still made time for Kenji as much as she could; whenever she wasn't trying to accomplish her second goal. Her sensei Ryu, before he died, has promised to teach her sand abilities and with the disappearance of Zutto, she was left to learn on her own. Obtaining scrolls and other such things from the Ryota clan in Suna, she was able to begin this training.
Two years had then passed and a good amount of the village was restored. Katsumi was then upgraded to Jounin rank due to all her hard work and effort, as well as leading numerous people and defending the village against a various amount of threats. She was well on her way to achieving her goal and upon being informed of her clan by her father, she told Kenji of her leave from Konoha for a small time. Traveling to Suna, she entered the estate and finally was able to talk to the brother that her and her father followed this whole time. An elderly man, he had wished to speak with her at least 3 years ago and now that she was there, he was able to do so. They discussed clan matters and how he was impressed in how much she had grown. They talked of how they had been watching her this whole time, seeing the potential she had and sad that she left with her mother many years ago. Although it was a set fate, the leader talked of his old age and how he had been seeking for someone to take his place. She had been recommended by her father and later, a meeting was held as they kept track of all the things she had done. Now that that list has grown, Katsumi was fully recommended once more and numerous agreed. The leader then asked her, and upon accepting, he retired to live amongst his former subordinates in the clan and follow the new leader, Katsumi Ryota.
This was only the first half of her goal, and upon hearing of his brother stepping down; the other leader soon came to their estates with his guards. Tension was high that day and it came down to a battle between Katsumi and the other leader, the younger brother who was jealous and split the clan to begin with. They fought for atleast a day, using all that they knew and despite the man being powerful, he had fallen. He never admitted defeat and soon his own guards took him down, tired of his ruthless rule as Katsumi spoke with high honor and respect for those who followed the younger brother. The other half soon came to the main household, wanting answers for what had occurred. Katsumi done a lot that day, upon resting, she came out and explained the scenario to them all and answered individual questions. Every member was wary, but as the older brother and true leader stepped forth; majority listened. As for those who didn't the guards stepped forth and explained Katsumi's case. After much discussion, they all soon agreed for her to be leader and once again the clan was united much like Katsumi dreamed for the start.
Accomplishing her goal and restoring balance, after a few months, she soon returned to Konoha to see Kenji once more. In the time she was gone, she felt he himself had grown. She placed a trusted team of Ryota clan members to watch over the clan as she left, staying with Kenji as much as she could. He was still chunin after all this time, and she felt it was okay for him to be whichever rank he wished; however she believed he deserved more. Time passed as their bond strengthened, and to her surprise she was then asked for her hand in marriage. She accepted and upon marriage, it wasn't long before she became known as Katsumi Akira. She remained clan leader despite her clan change, and still took care of the Ryota clan even though she was in a different village and far off.
Later, a child was born, and together they raised him. For the most part, he seemed quit a lot like her except unlike her he could actually speak. This was one thing she worried about, if she ever had children and they would be mute. For Kaji was no longer around to give her children the abilities and she didn't wish to burden even if he was still alive. Their lives still continued, and as a second child was born, a girl, they became even closer.
One day while playing with the children, a group of ANBU appeared at their doorstep. Upon being invited in, they requested to see Katsumi immediately over important yet top secret matters. Although she could tell Kenji was interested, even she wasn’t able to answer anything, ignorant of the situation. She took it into deep thought, worried that she had done something wrong and maybe if it involved her clan; how she was leader and yet in a different village. This troubled her and Kenji could easily have read that fact on her face.
On the meeting day, Katsumi arrived at the ANBU headquarters where she was taken into a room with a variety of ANBU and even the Konoha advisors, elders. She stood before them as they evaluated her and pulled out records upon records of information from as far back as when she was a Genin. They even took out hand-written notes and apparently people were spying on her. Requesting why she was there, as she as she had the opportunity to speak, they informed her of her being a possible Hokage candidate. Almost feeling as if hit by a hard current of wind, she stumbled a tad bit but straightened and kept her cool; completely surprised. They discussed about her as if she weren’t there and occasionally asked a series of questions as they stood before him.
When it was all said and done, the main advisor and lead ANBU stood up and nodded with a smile. They were all for her becoming the next Hokage, but a few others had explained their cases as to why she shouldn’t be. Due to her clan being in a different village and her being leader, they saw this as a hazard. That she could turn on Konoha and destroy it, possibly even allow her clan to stand up and run the place. Growing tense, Katsumi explained her case thoroughly and why she wouldn’t do such a thing. Hooked up to a lie detector the entire time, it never went off and thus she earned many people on her side that day.
They soon sent her home to evaluate more and when she arrived, she explained to Kenji as much as she was allowed. She couldn’t help but smile, all this time she had been secretly aiming for the goal of becoming Hokage but never spoke a word about it. However, at the time there were other matters and soon she began to help with the children once more. She thought it through, seeing this as being good yet bad for them if she became Hokage. She feared for them but at the same time, sworn to become stronger so she could not only protect them but protect the people of the village and her clan. She was already running plans through her head as she waited to receive word from the elders.
However, things didn't go as planned. Upon getting a call from her clan, she received word of her father being captured while on a mission. Taking it into her own hands, she said goodbye to Kenji and told him to stay here with the children before she made her way to get her father in Bird Country. Infiltrating the base, she prepared to rescue him but allowed herself to be captured since she couldn't find her father. They were placed in the same cell together and soon, working as a team, her and her father broke out and attempted to escape. Her mission was to get her father out, and as they ran into trouble, she put herself in harms way so he could escape. Being captured again, she was taken to a different cell, one that drained her slowly and made her weak. Meanwhile, her father went to Konoha, injured, and spoke to Kenji with his last dying breaths; telling him Katsumi was captured but never able to go into detail.
Within the cell, Katsumi was soon tested on due to her ability and because she had wings. They took samples and ran numerous tests of different types, a group of medical ninja gone wrong. Her memories was 'erased', waiting to be awakened once again. From this point on, she had remained sealed until she may one day awaken again.
Soon enough, Katsumi awakened and her memories flowed back within the lab. It was then she broke out and happened to meet Keiji, relative of her and Kenji. Upon returning to Konoha, she began to settle down, meet her family and have alone time with Kenji, before she was ranked up to Hokage due to her achievements. Soon, life was busy yet again and she began to run Konoha with the help of her assistant. She has slowly been clearing Kenshi's case, although Kenshi and Rin had died, and has taken in the Uchiha's besides raising Satoshi and Ayame with Kenji. While in power, she has had encounters with the other kages and has experienced other factors, such as losing Iko. All the while, her personality has been slowly developing as she grows with her kids and husband.

- Katsumi stood before the mirror with a sign, not only did her reflection show her what she looked like in the Hokage's funeral attire but also revealed to her the emotions written on her face. For a moment she was a bit worried about it all for numerous reasons, mainly because she was unable to see into what the future held. Would a riot start from this because of Kenshi? What would the village think of them having a mute Hokage? Would they actually respect the dead or again, resort to causing havoc? Katsumi did not know what it was that caused her normal ease to become unsettled. An ominous vibe was rising, casting a blanket over her before she closed her blue eyes and took in a deep breath. The smell of lavender wafted through the air from tha maids, only relaxing her further as she then released a deep silent sigh.
Turning to the door, she soon began to exit before a maid stopped her and smiled. Katsumi blinked at the water flower in her hand as she smiled, reaching up and placing it in Katsumi's blue hair. The maids had already put it back in a bun with some chopsticks running through it, the rest of her hair flowing and lying flat on her back. The maid then nodded as she walked down the hall and opened the door leading into the library room where meetings could be held. Katsumi walked behind her, nodding her thanks before entering the room and gazing at the five young children standing before her.
Satoshi's semi-bored expression turned to a more cheerful one as he gazed at Katsumi with a smile, causing the Uchiha's and other children to glance up as well. She returned the smile, her mind soon connecting to each of their minds, her voic catching her full attention. 'Ayame, Yukiko, you both are gorgeous," she said and they smiled, "as for you three, you look handsome." Ikasu crossed his arms, gazing away from everyone with redness appearing on his cheeks. Hideaki and Satoshi however, pretended as if she never said it as they also gazed away. Katsumi let out a silent laugh before she turned to the maid, 'i'm sure Kenji will eventually be around to take them... however if not, could you please bring them? I will watch over there if I must.' The maid nodded with a smile before walking over towards them and standing behind them. Katsumi smiled at each of them, 'Kenji should be here to take you, if not then go with the woman behind you, okay?' They each nodded before Katsumi turned away and exited out through her office.
Overall, the office was relatively empty due to everyone going to the funeral, going on patrol, or aiding in the passport lists. This reminded Katsumi of Iko for a moment. From the way Mikami had spoke to her, Iko was torn about Kenshi's death and yet is not coming to Kenshi's own funeral. Sure, she was on bad terms with him. However, being the peacreful sort, she did not wish to start a war or any fight with anyone and thus was going to have Iko watched over. But it seems they feared for the worst, understandable due them not being allied and yet still a shame. 'I wonder if he already said goodbye at the hospital...' she thought, exiting the office and heading towards the funeral. Shaking her head she sighed again, relaxing the nerves that only seemed to grow slightly. 'Enough about Iko... today is about Kenshi and I must see that everyone is taken care of....'. With that, she then disappeared to meet with Yoshimaru at the building where Sarutobi's funeral was held many many years ago.
Already, people were beginning to line up to enter and begin their goodbyes. Majority of them were here for Kenshi, which was understandable to him being so well known. Some had snarls, looks of anger on their faces and their hearts tormented by the crimes he did not commit. Today, not only would their souls be allowed to rest peacefully, but so would the minds of everyone believing Kenshi was guilty. Katsumi only hoped that they would relax and accept the truth rather than fight it, last thing she needed was a fight to break loose. Especially with the allied nation of Kumogakure, for the Raikage would be here as well.
Appearing beside Yoshimaru, she gazed at the cakstes and pictures before her with her hands behind her back. Turning around, she then faced the entry way before glancing up at the nearby roofs. Some movement was seen as someone backed away to hide in the shadows and she nodded, turning to Yoshimaru with a smile on her face. 'Well done Yoshimaru, I thank you for all of this. Security is also in place and we will be ready to begin here shortly.... depending upon when everyone else arrives from the hotels.'
She watched Yoshimaru's facial expressions then, trying to grow a better sense of how to react to them before she walked over and placed a hand on his shoulder. Her blue eyes studied his face before she nodded, trying to show how much she actually cared for each of those in the village and visiting. She then turned back to the caskets, walking up to them before saying her own silent goodbye. She had only met them once and was now watching over their kids, only seen kenshi fight once as he saved her husband's life. Stepping into a battle that her and Tenchi carelessly did not pay enough attention too. She could have stepped in and avoided his death, she could have told the doctor about Rin. Rin knew she was sick and in theri thoughts Katsumi promised to keep it a secret. She could have saved them both, they could both be with their children she now watched over. Her heart began to ache and she released a sigh as she closed her eyes, the calmness surrounding her despite her guilt within. A single tear formed but she held it back, not allowing it to fall down her face. She was never one to show emotion in front of others, even taking years before she showed any true emotion to her own husband. She needed to stay strong for the others here today, to keep their hearts from sinking into the depths of darkness and sorrow.
Turning back away she then gazed at Yoshimaru, the tear gone and her face returning to that strange smile she had had ever since Mikami and her had a meeting. The smile that, to anyone who knew her, seemed ominous and rather... dark. Her thoughts were her own and unlike her, she was sure that no one else coming would have seishin and be able to read them. Walking over to Yoshimaru she sighed, 'ready?' It was then her assistant walked in and smiled, causing Katsumi to be in a bit of shock. Well, at least she wouldn't have to worry about asking someone to talk for her.
